The Yeti is a combination of a family hatchback and an SUV, in line with the trend for what they call ‘crossover’ – such as the Nissan Qashqai. It’s an odd mixture, giving you a well-built, well-equipped car that has the affordability, versatility and user-friendliness of a hatchback, with the power, competence and off-road capability of an SUV. You can buy it with a diesel or petrol engine and two-wheel or four-wheel drive. As far as practicality goes, it’s definitely among the class-leaders. There’s acres of space in the cabin, along with a versatile seating system, which can accommodate up to five adults, or if removed, can make way for a much bigger load space. The cabin is one of the best in class. Everything is neatly laid out, easy to operate, and it feels really well-built and robust. There is a lot of kit in there too so you’re getting a lot of car for a decent price. On the road it feels assured and handles well and is more than competent off-road.
